Expertise:

  • Character Work/Levels: Realism and believability are the most essential aspect of any interpretation event. We’ll sit down and learn everything there is to know about this character. Then, we’ll work on finding each and every emotion to create an undeniable performance!

  • Topic Selection: I want you to feel proud of your performance. I am constantly thinking of new ideas and ways to elevate them. Let’s craft something that drives your passion.

  • Blocking: Creating an environment for your character is key to any performance. We’ll create a believable environment to put your audience into their world.

  • Intro Writing: As a Communication and Journalism student, I am constantly studying the rhetoric and language of current events. I can help you craft an argument that not only resonates with you, but with any audience. I believe intros are one of the most essential factors to any performance, especially on a national scale.

Short Bio:

Hi there! My name is Paige Allbright and I am a senior on Western Kentucky University’s Forensics Team. I am currently working to earn my degree in Communication and Journalism Writing. Speech taught me how to use my voice by not only advocating for others, but for myself. I know first-hand how much of an impact this activity can make on our lives. I have been competing for eight years now and have reached five national final rounds in DI, Prose, and Declamation at NSDA, NCFL, AFA, and NFA. I have also reached national outrounds in POI, Poetry, Oratory, Duo, Persuasion, and After Dinner Speaking. Recently, I became the 2021 National Champion of Dramatic Interpretation at AFA and was the National Runner-Up in Prose. I love helping students find their voice and autonomy in this activity. Let’s create  something beautiful together!

Coaching Philosophy:

I take a collaborative approach to coaching. Having autonomy and control over performances is the most pertinent goal for my students. I want to help you craft a message you feel proud of and connected to. You’re given 10 minutes of uninterrupted time. What do you want to say?

Realism and believability are at the core of any successful performance. My goal is to help you find your voice within this activity and as a performer. In sessions, we’ll dive deep into character work. Performances grow and evolve over the course of the year, but I find that you can always go further. I always push students to think of every little “thing.” That’s what transports an audience into your world and separates one performer from the next. Together, we’ll create a unique, dynamic, and truly engaging performance that will stand out against the rest.

I provide students a creative space to make choices on their own. Students will be given character development exercises and practice techniques I have learned and cultivated through my years competing at the highest level. This is your space! We’ll set tangible goals to make the most of our time together in each session. I want to know what you want. Let’s take your skills to the next level. I’ll be here to guide you along the way.

Crafting a nationally competitive performance is a goal for each student. While competition is fun, the lessons competitors learn from this activity is what truly shapes this experience. I find the best moments in speech come from the conversations you have, the connections you make, the confidence you build, and the impact your messages have on yourself and others.

Let’s create something undeniable together.
