Practice Debate

 

Each practice debate will be conducted virtually, but in real time, allowing debaters from across the country to connect with one another in a totally new and innovative way. There are roughly 40 minutes of debate, followed by an additional 50 minutes of discussion and critique, totaling around 90 minutes total per practice round.

 

At the completion of the round, there will be an oral critique and discussion between the coach and the debaters about what happened in round, including a full break down of the clash, what was said, what should have been said, and what each debater needs to focus on in the future. Post-round discussion will also include a breakdown of the primary evidence utilized in the round, along with suggestions, if applicable, for better sources that the debaters can use. This format allows for an open discussion between all involved- debaters and coaches- that betters everyone involved.
